Wedge Meters
Wedge Meters are wedge-type flow measurement elements developed specifically for measuring the flow rate of high-viscosity, dirty, and solid-particle-containing fluids, operating on the differential pressure (DP) principle. The wedge-shaped measurement element partially restricts the flow in the pipe cross-section, creating the necessary pressure difference for measurement.
Thanks to the wedge geometry, the risk of clogging in the flow line is minimized and the flow profile becomes more stable. The resulting differential pressure (ΔP) is measured by a differential pressure transmitter and converted into a flow rate value. This structure provides reliable measurement, especially in demanding processes where classic orifice systems are insufficient.
Wedge Meters are preferred as a long-lasting flow measurement solution in mining, chemical, petrochemical, and heavy industrial applications due to their robust mechanical structure, wear resistance, and low maintenance requirements.
